Dadaism and Duchampism
Data started as a philosophical and
art movement in as early as the 20th century. The main participants
of the Dada movement were the European artists, elite group, as well as writers
who were not in support of the World War I. To help stop the inclination of
political leaders towards war, led the participants of the Dada movement to use
'absurdity' to castigate bad leaders. Dada started in Zurich area in the 1910s
(Trachtman, 2006). The main aim of Dadaism was to fights against unjust and
senseless WWI (Trachtman, 2006) through the use of aspects of art such as
songs, painting, theater art, puppetry, as well as literature that was
distributed to different participants in the European community.
Duchampism and Dadaism had serval variations, mainly regarding the nature of the art that both groups practised.
