Culturally Diverse Students

INSTRUCTIONS:

The culminating project will be a literature review focused on a diverse student population (e.g., students with disabilities, English Language Learners, LGBTQ students, culturally diverse students, religious diversity, gender diverse, linguistically diverse, etc). The literature review will discuss pedagogical approaches for teachers who work with this population of students, will draw from a minimum of 5 academic articles/texts, and run between 5-7 pages in length (double spaced, 12 pt. font, Times New Roman). Text (exclusive of references) will run between 1250-1750 words. Academic articles can be chosen from those available on Blackboard. The paper is to conform with APA guidelines. The structure of the literature review is as follows: ●      Introduction: Orients the reader to the selected topic, identifies the relevance of examining this area, and specifies the structure of the paper. 1-2 pages. ●      Findings: Provides a synthesis of the major insights, themes, and results of the literature reviewed. Should not be a reporting on each individual study. Instead, should focus on commonalities and the major trends that surfaced in the literature. 2-3 pages. ●      Discussion: Connect what was learned from the findings section with oneself as a teacher/future teacher. What are the implications for one’s professional practice? What are the implications for other teachers? What questions still remain after having conducted the literature review?
