The primary objective of this RCT is to analyze the effects of on the Xbox Kinect exercise running for eight weeks among healthy older adults concerning the proprioception of the knee. The strength of this research revolves around the use of a single-blinded RCT as the experimental design so that to reduce bias when testing the effects of Xbox Kinetics. The participants in the trial were randomly selected from a retirement community center, as such the use of randomization was aimed to promote impartiality (Sadeghi et al., 2016, pp. 145).

Conversely, the major drawback that encounters researchers during the RCT is the failure to take into account the element of maintaining balance, as such, there is no demonstration of the method that can be used to improve proprioception on postural control and stability. In this study, the researchers did not use a social theory as they opted for the use of computed statistics to explain the proprioception of the knee.

The researchers in this study used observation as the research design in the RCT, where proprioception machines were used to conduct tests on the participants. The control and intervention groups took an exercise program that runs for 8-week by taking part in pre- and post-tests. As a quantitative research, this study is characterized by the use of standardized instruments in the data collection. Besides, a quantitative study uses formulas that can be used to predict outcomes (Elos & Kyngas, 2008, pp. 111).
