Critical Analysis Activity 3

Question 1

A.    A stop differs from an arrest in that a stop only takes a small amount of time while in an arrest, a police officer will detail a suspect. Additionally, a stop is a regular activity that police agents carry to ensure the citizens' security and well-being even without a probable cause. However, in the case of an arrest, police must have probable cause or unreasonable doubles that a particular person has been involved in criminal activity. When one is arrested, they are detailed and cannot leave until cleared (Williamson, 1982).
