The essay instructions is based upon 3 episodes from the TV show Criminal minds and you are arguing something about the show   Essay outline:  The review is on the television show, Criminal minds 1. Information about the show and its production. Who was the show’s creator? What network did it (or does it) air on? Has it changed networks or time-slots? Did it air on a broadcast network, a premium cable channel, or a streaming platform? What were the intentions behind making the show?  If it’s not currently on the air, why did it end? Is it in re-runs or available on a streaming service? 2. How television critics have responded to the series by drawing on recognized critics writing for newspapers (such as the New York Times, Globe and Mail, the Washington Post, etc), magazines (such as Entertainment Weekly, The New Yorker, Time Magazine, etc), or online magazines such as salon.com and blogs such as Critics at Large. Your essay is to discuss the critics’ opinions of the show, i.e., whether it is considered groundbreaking and what contribution the show makes to television as an industry and as popular culture. 3. An academic perspective by drawing on scholarly arguments about television as an industry and as popular culture. What have academics written about the show? How do they frame it as a particular genre (i.e., drama, sitcom, procedural, etc)? What is the social and cultural importance of the series according to academic scholars?  4. A discussion of at least three episodes of the series to demonstrate your arguments.  5. Use of at least one of the required course readings. Note: throwing in a single quotation from an article does not count.
