Choose one country/region and one particular crime issue that is relevant for that country/region(e.g., drug trafficking in Venezuela, human trafficking in Thailand, genocide in Congo, wildlife trafficking in Central Africa, etc). Then, seek to analyzethis issue by using a specific criminological theory (or theories), addressing: why the crime is relevant for the particular country/region (context), why it has occurred in the first place (causal factors), and why it has increased/decreased over the recent years (change and statistics). Refer to criminological/critical theoriesto explain the causes of the crime and the crime trends. Then, in the discussion, addressthe key strengths and weaknessesof the theory you selected (limitations of the theory).The paper should be approximately 2,500 words (around8 double spaced pages), excluding references and title page.
