The research should consist of a review of the overall literature in the area of the topic. The research will include the comprehensiveness and analysis of the literature review and the identification of the research gaps in the literature. At its best a literature review is a clear synthesis of the information already available on a topic. It is not just a retelling of what others have done, even if it is well compiled. It should be critical about what others have done, but generous in understanding what the achievements have been in your field. It does need to provide some context but most of all it needs to focus sharply on the research problems that you are investigating. There is a limit of 3 pages (excluding references) .
