are noticeable similarities between parents and peer influence on child
development. Despite peers playing an essential role in a child's life, parents
also hold a very influential role during the developmental stage. Kerry et al.
(2012) found that a child who receives academic support from both parents and
peers perform better than a child who only gets that kind of support from only
one, or neither. Both parents and peers are essential in the development of a
child; however, these influences peek and trough across the developmental
stage. Parents and peer behavior can either positively or negatively influence
child development most especially regarding education. Peers and parents
involved in the academic life of a child positively relate to achievement, and
the more powerful this contribution is, the better the results. However, if a
child receives support only from either of the two, there are high chances that
his/her academic development will be gravely affected. Therefore, the
connection between peers and parents support is significant towards the
