The Qatar National Bank was established as the first locally owned commercial bank in the year 1964. Over the years, the bank has grown rapidly and spread across other nations such as Singapore, Oman, Libya, Yemen, Paris, London, and Kuwait. During the initiation of the company, the ownership structure was based on 50% by the members of the public and 50% by the Qatar Investment Authority.
