Common App Personal Essay; E-Commerce

E-commerce has in the recent past become a big deal in our ever-expanding economy. There is an increase in the online system, and thus the traditional system of doing business is being overridden by e-commerce; the business today has shifted, and the trends are changing from physical shoppers to online buyers. The shift to online shopping and its acceptance among shoppers has played a significant part in inspiring me to have my business in place. The other and mostly the immediate inspiration to have “Yassy” was anime which was a blend of something that I really enjoyed and something that I had not encountered in the market yet. As a little child and as earlier as eleven years old, I had a passion for collecting cosmetics, and that I had a dream of one day becoming a cosmetic chemist. It was fascinating how I had my friends having fun of me that I was too much obsessed with, but today I have achieved milestones because of the ordinary makeup idea. The challenge that I had growing up as a makeup fan was the frequent attack by my friends that I was too much obsessed with the venture.

In the quest to avoid the most common pitfalls in business and one of the threats to businesses, I took the initiative before starting Yassy to conduct thorough research, competition analysis, the target audience, vendors, business branding, and legal considerations. The business avoids dreadful mistakes by having a close consultant, who happened to be my mother, who was inspiring and playing a leading role in the inception and the running of the business. Drafting the business plan could not be perceived as a walk in the park; it was one of the profound challenges that I encountered prior to the inception of the business but soon overcame it to draft an all-inclusive plan after a long time of consultation. Making the first punch of customers was a challenge because the business was young and not familiar with the people, but it took some time to develop to that business that I once dreamt of having. Patience has been the most driving force towards the success of the business. The other challenge that I have faced in this business is advertisement and marketing.
