Circumcision has often been a highly discussed topic in society. There are pros and cons on both sides and the pendulum tends to swing one way or the other depending on the decade. First, think of your own thoughts on circumcision. Are you for or against? Do you think mothers should be allowed to make this body altering decision for their sons at birth or should only fathers make this decision or should the decision be made by the child when he is at an age to make such a big decision? Now that you have thought about male circumcision for a few moments, explain how male circumcision is any different from female circumcision. Is one worse than the other? Why or why not? Read page 29 in your text, Female Genital Cutting, and explain how this is any better or worse than male circumcision.  This 2nd discussion will be in place of a written assignment for this week. You may include all of the questions asked above or simply focus on one.
