Students have different abilities, which make them have a different skills endowment, and therefore students should not be subjected to common testing. In an inclusive, there is the HEARTS program that can be used to authentically evaluate students learning in the inclusive and diverse communitarian art class.  Some of the forms of assessment involved in the program include portfolio and exhibition, although there are other critical strategies.

Meaningful assessment is a constituent of the learning goals and purposes and the selection of the methods and criteria for evaluating student attainment of the set goals. In an attempt to achieve this, teachers make decisions on timing, data analysis, and interpretation. Art teachers, in most cases, use a variety of indicators and the actions of the students to assess the learning since student learning is not entirely based on finished studio products.
