In “The Promise and Challenge of Leadership Development for Women of Color,” author Tomika Rodriguez describes an identity-conscious framework that lets people nurture leadership qualities. Another essential idea that Rodriquez presents entails necessary attributes, for example, positivity, renewal, and resilience that allows women of color to improve their standing in a social setting. Leadership development requires that women of color adopt empowerment approaches that will enable them to adapt to the ever-changing circumstances and aid them to augment their personal and career growth.

Rodriquez focuses on empowerment strategies such as resilience, renewal, and affirmative action to depict that indecision fails to solve challenges of leadership development.
