Assignment 1: Net Neutrality and Repeater Signal System

Question 1: What is net neutrality?

Network neutrality is a concept that means that all communication within the internet must be treated the same. In this case, network services providers have a duty to charge the same fees, allow equal access, without any form of favoritism to all users. Also, it implies that internet service providers (ISPs) do have the right of power to treat different internet traffics with favoritism.  According to Wu (2003), net neutrality limits broadband discrimination even with paid prioritization by different users.

For example, in the United States' major ISP, such as AT $ T and CenturyLink, cannot prioritize internet traffic even to private internet users' corporate. Everyone should be treated the same; this is called net neutrality.
