(Running a Family Business)

A leader is an individual who convinces other people to follow certain protocols. They are heads of the business entity, building confidence in other persons and propels their actions forward. In our family business, my uncle is the leader. He makes the critical decisions for moving the business forward to achieve its objectives (Rus et al., 2020). He helps in policy formulation and assigns duties to other players to ensure the smooth running of the firm. He is also the role model for all other persons working for the family organization.

Followers are the individual who follows the guidelines and instructions given to get their tasks done. In our cause, apart from my uncle, all other family members, including myself, are our family business's followers. Leaders guide followers to perform their duties adequately aligned with company goals and objectives.

Leaders and followers interact in several aspects to ensure that operations run as planned. First, leaders interact with followers to give them instructions and procedures to achieve the right results. Second, followers reach their leaders when consulting after running short of ideas. Leaders are knowledgeable people who help their juniors get out of trouble when they are stuck due to a lack of expertise (Ulati et al., 2016). Lastly, subordinates reach their seniors when they are faced with conflict. Organizations are inherent with disagreement due to differing levels of reasoning among players. Leaders are experienced in conflict resolution, and they listen to the conflicting parties then give an impartial verdict that ends the disagreement between them.

I work as the front desk person in the family business. My primary role in the business is to ensure that internal and external customers get what they require in the form and time they need it. When customers have complaints, and it is my responsibility to ensure that they are amicably resolved, and their needs are met.
