Argument Essay Instructions:
Since an argument essay attempts to change the way people think, yours must focus on a debatable topic or issue that is directly or indirectly related to the documentary you selected as your essay's focus.
What are your thoughts about the documentary? What did you already know about the information presented in the documentary? What did you discover? What different kinds of evidence---facts, examples, expert opinions---are used to persuade you to think a certain way?
State your view or stance that directly or indirectly relates to the documentary in a well-formatted thesis. Again, make sure that it takes a strong stance. This will lay the foundation for your overall argument.
The thesis must be reinforced by at least 3 strong evidenced-laden, well-detailed, and well-sourced arguments.
Each argument must be introduced by a clearly stated topic sentence
Find 3-4 academically reputable sources. One source must be an opposing view regarding your topic thesis. Logically and intellectually argue against this (faulty) view. It should be presented in a one paragraph long counterargument placed right before the conclusion.
Argument Essay Guidelines:
-italicize thesis
-3rd person only
-fully developed paragraphs
-mandatory counterargument
