Thesis statement: Firearms in houses can significantly contribute to increasing in suicide, but not for every household.

According to Matthew, et. al (2007), the rate at which the firearm deaths has increased over the last six years is alarming and requires an urgent measure before the damage turns to be irreparable. Statistics shows that children who are 15 years of age and below are 12 times in a risk of terminating their lives or rather having their lives ended by other kids using firearms. This result brings out an image that is worrying and disconcerting mostly when visualizing the fact that these kids do not hold or own guns but their parents do. Is the situation this bad?

To understand the gravity of the gun ownership in a household situation, it would be imperative to take a review of how safely families that have kids store their weapons. With no doubt, incidences of suicide are sure to increase when the children are left with guns, in the same household, and they may decide to toy around with them with or without knowledge of what harm they can cause.
