What difference would it make?2.    Slavery is a significant institution in the historical development of America. Why and how did America institutionalize a system of “race” based slavery? Discuss the cultural legacy of slavery, including its features.  What were the differences in slavery as an institution between the United States and Latin American/Caribbean countries? How was the system of slavery maintained and enforced? What were the major reasons for the creation of a “system of racism”? What were the components of this system?
