Leisure Activity/Pursuit Paper (50 points): This assignment is intended to foster exploration and understanding of a particular leisure activity and/or pursuit, including history, cultural origins, contemporary form and issues surrounding the activity and/or pursuit. Students are to develop a paper on a leisure activity/pursuit, describing the activity/pursuit including its origin and its relationship to the national and regional social institutions (i.e., education, family, economy, etc.). It is expected that the student will integrate course readings, discussions, and contemporary issues into the paper/presentation. The paper is to be 2-4 pp. typed, double-spaced, in 12 point Times New Roman font with 1” margins all around. It is expected that information will be taken from a minimum of three sources for this paper and the sources should be cited in the text and a references page should be included at the end of the document that includes complete citation in APA format.
