Recent activities

On April 2022, the Anonymous Group admitted to having hacked the Central Bank in Russia and uncovered over 35,000 copies of agreements concealed from the public and the Russian allies (Tom, 2022). This is an international-level hacking activity considering its potential for revealing bilateral and multilateral Russian government dealings with internal stakeholders and other countries.

The other recent activity is a threat issued to the Russian government. Anonymous indicated its intention to hack 1,500 Russian websites, such as the ministry of defense, airspace agencies, oil companies, internet providers, and TV channels (Pitrelli, 2022). This was proceeded by a series of hacking activities of Russian TV programs to showcase Ukraine symbols, music, and Ukrainian suffering at the hands of the Russian soldiers.
